This is a fantastic vintage 1940's to early 1950's handmade "Plump Pouch" purse. It is made of knitted red chenille and hand stitching with a red velvety lining. It has large squared wooden handles and frame. It is a kitting/ sewing bag style handbag and super soft and cute! Wartime lead to ladies getting crafty and creative with extra fabrics and repurposing what they had. Attempts were made to brighten up the utilitarian look, handbags were shop-bought simple frame styles or ingenious homemade designs from all manner of things. This little bag is a great example!

It measures: 8 1/2" wide, 9 1/2" high and is 1 1/2" deep.
