Black peplum dress of semi sheer rayon from the 40s-50s. I think this might have been from the 40s, and then lengthened for the longer styles of the 50s. Or possibly it was formal length and shortened in the 50s. Old Hollywood glamour! Film Noir style. (some photos have been lightened to show details)

- short sleeves with a slit and ties of the sparkly fabric
- smocking details at the shoulders

- peplum edged in sparkly texture
- the peplum is long at the back and attached to the skirt seam
- belt loops but missing the belt
- metal zipper at the back
- seams finished with pinking

- condition - Very good. Looks good. No snags or holes noted. Deep dark black with no fading. A small split in the seam below the zipper. Just needs a few stitches. Zipper is sticky and may need to be replaced eventually. Missing one tooth. I rubbed it with soap bar which helped. You may see some white soap dust.
