This elegant 1940s hat in jet black straw has a wide brim and a chin length veil. The shallow, rounded crown is trimmed with a stiffened, large grosgrain ribbon bow. The hat's crown is slightly deeper in back, to better hug the back of the head when worn. The wide-weave veiling is tied at the center back of the crown, where the wide brim (widest at center front) narrows to almost nothing. The brim is embellished with sweet scalloped/braided straw trim, all around. Labeled a vintage hat size 22 1/2, it should fit most head sizes, due to the shallow crown. This darling, wide-brimmed 1940s straw hat is in excellent condition.
