40’s Letterman Varsity Sweater - 'F' with Name$85.00
This blue and gold 'F' letterman/varsity sweater belonged to Johnnie Walker, who graduated from Fort Mill High in South Carolina in 1944. It is personalized with his name embroidered on the interior. The sweater was produced in nearby Charlotte, NC by Faul & Crymes, Inc. Sporting Goods.
There is so much fall/winter outfit potential with this piece!
Condition: There are a few moth holes -- two near the neck and one just below the top horizontal line of the 'F.' Hopefully, someone with knitting skills can repair these places. It looks like other moth holes have been repaired at some point in the sweater's history, as well. I noticed repairs on the right side near the neck and on the right sleeve. The repairs aren't perfect, but I think they add to it's character.
Measurements (bust and waist measurements taken flat and doubled -- there's some stretchiness to the knit that allows for wiggle room)
Bust: 38 inches
Waist: 28 inches
Length: 24 inches
Photographed on a women's size 2 dress form.
