This was the nightgown a nervous husband walked into the lingerie department to get and walked out with a box am with a bow on it under his arm headed home for his anniversary.
This is a 1940s, Faerie brand maxi nightgown in blushing nude pink. It is a lovely example of what made this brand a favorite of describing ladies of culture in the 1940s. The lines be them simple are perfectly placed to accentuate the feminine in the most flattering way
Sexy without being garish.
The tag is marked a 34/4 but the flat lay measurements are a tad larger. This IS a small size regardless. Our dress form is a size 4 and it fit well.

The brand was sold in high end department stores and luxury boutiques and the company was groundbreaking in their marketing of their lingerie with full page print ads in nearly every womens magazine in the country.
In the 40s and 50s sleeping in a Faerie was laying down in luxury and sauntering around the house in something a movie star might also wear to bed. These nightgowns were designed and marketed to make a woman feel special. And they did…and do!
