Gorgeous black rayon jacquard button up blouse with peplum. Circa 1940s.

This is a beautifully made and very feminine blouse.

Light to medium weight black rayon with a woven in abstract pattern as pictured.

I have lightened several photos to show details. The color is a rich deep black.

Princess seamed front with vertical darts at the front and back waist seam. Double layered self fabric scalloped peplum.

Wrist length peaked sleeves are lightly gathered at the top with small interior shoulder pads for shape.

Scalloped fold back cuffs with a 2-1/2" tall finished slit which fastens with a loop and self covered button.

Does up the center front with twelve self fabric loops and self covered domed buttons.

There is also a set of two domed back lucite buttons with set in rhinestones - these are connected by a round off white cord and slip through hand finished buttons near the neckline as pictured. The present cord could be easily removed and replaced with a black or other color cord or even a chain.

DESIGNER LABEL: None - this appears to be the work of a skilled seamstress or tailor.

CONDITION: Excellent with no issues at all - no pills, stains, odors, discoloration, fading, rips, holes, or tears. Gently worn and very well cared for.

SIZING: There is no size tag. Based on the measurements below, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Medium.

Shoulders: 14" Across

Outer Sleeves: 25" - (includes 2" wide scalloped fold back cuffs)

Inner Sleeves: 17-1/2"

Bust: 37"

Waist: 29"

Bottom of peplum: 35" around

Length: 21-1/2" - includes 5-3/4" wide peplum - Top of Shoulder to Hem
