1940’s/1950’s silk fit and flare dress in white.

40s 1950s silk circle dress. White with paint brush strokes. Pleated shoulders. gathered skirt panel. Bust 44.

BELT NOT INCLUDED- only to show fit.

This dress was made by individual. I did a fiber burn test and narrowed it down to silk. It was self extinguishing, charred etc. And this was my best judgment.

White fabric has nice shimmer, and patterned with what looks like brush strokes of various bright color- primary color.

Deep narrow V neck.

Lovely full pleating at shoulders that fall into small pockets.

Along hip level, there are gathers on both front sides, and they appear to be falling out of "pocket" which is beautiful detail matching the shoulders.

The skirt is very full, almost a circle. The Maker added some netting underneath the gathers I guess to maintain shape and fullness.

Side metal Talon Zipper. Also ribbon band on inside waist has a hook/eye closure.

Half sleeves with cuff.

CONDITION:

Color and texture of fabric even. Minor wear to fabric. Hems appear intact. No stains found or holes. Side metal zipper works fine. Good condition for age. The skirt hem is partially covered with hem tape. Pinked seams

The best thing I think for this dress would be a good pressing at a dry cleaner. I have used home dry cleaning and gentle press. I dont have a reliable dry cleaner.
