Gorgeous late 1940s early 1950s teal blue dress with deep v, dolman/magyar cap sleeves, a fitted waist, princess seams, fabric-covered buttons up the front, and accordion-pleated bottom mermaid hem.
Lovely little number for going out, date night, or cosplay. Not lined, but the inside is soft, feels structured.
Beautiful fabric and teal color - with a brilliant sheen and black undertones
BRAND:
Designed by Harco Original
SIZE/FIT:
Estimated modern size XS-Small/2, but please see measurements and allow for some room for fit and ease of wear as the waist and underarm are quite fitted. My guess is women would have worn this with a girdle in the past, but it is not needed today, maybe Spanx. Shown on a model with a 29" waist and as you can see it is much too tight.
Measurements in Inches:
-Shoulder (from sleeve to sleeve) : 22 1/2"
-Bust (at underarm): 36"
-Waist: 26"
-Hip: 38"
-Cap Sleeve: 8"
-Length (from highest point): 45 1/2"
CARE & CONTENTS:
Dry clean only, my guess is the fabric is acrylic, skirt portion has a layer of tulle for some added flounce.
CONDITION:
Good to fair condition - there are teensy holes throughout the garment around the front and back waistline and hip area, back pleats, and hem. The previous owner had popped the buttons off around the middle. New buttons have been added, but they are smaller and closer to the edge for more movement and mobility. The inside tulle has some tears, not seen from the outside. Tag is frayed, pictured.
