A beautiful shade of pastel pinkish/lavender lilac is featured in this ultra suede suit designed by Signatures A Russel Taylor Company. This vintage 1970's era suit features long sleeves and a narrow shawl style collar. In Very Good Vintage Condition it is fully lined with one button on the blazer two small front pockets on the jacket and decorative top stitching.

The label inside identifies this as "ULTRASUEDE brand fabric Hand or Machine Washable Signatures Ultra Suede Facile A Russel Taylor Company" and there is another label showing that this was Made in the USA of Imported Fabric. The red white and blue ILGWU Union label also helped me date this as from the mid 1970's era.

The size label shows a size 8 however sizes have changed so much over the years so please use the measurements below to assure perfect fit.

For the blazer:
Shoulder to shoulder is 17 and 1/2 inches
Sleeve length is 23 inches with the under arm length at 16 inches
Bust size is 38 inches
Waist of the blazer is 36 inches
Length is 23 inches

For the skirt:
Waist from 24 to 29 inches with elasticized back
Hip is 39 and 1/2 inches
Length is 26 and 1/2 inches
Hemline width is 40 inches
6 inch slit in the back of skirt

Ultra Suede was the miracle fabric of the 1970's. It was praised by many high-end designers who made it into everything from hats to handbags to clothing. Women loved the variations made by the designers and adored the fact ultra suede looked like suede except it did not wrinkle and it was washable. One other factor you will appreciate is that ultra suede is typically lighter in weight than true suede.

The skirt has two side pockets a side zipper a back slit and an elasticized back waist for a comfortable fit at the waistline.

As a bonus to the buyer of this suit included with this sale will be a coordinating vintage scarf that can be worn to full advantage with this suit. That scarf is the one shown in these photos. Of course the jacket and the skirt can both be worn as separates with other pieces already in your wardrobe.

This set is fully lined and it may be washed in the washing machine and tumbled dry.
