30s Vintage Primary Plaid Cotton Day Dress with Matching Navy Blue Linen Jacket

1930s seersucker cotton day dress in a plaid pattern composed of primary colors over a white ground. the dress has a scoop neck and shapely seaming on the upper bodice that is accented with decorative mother-of-pearl buttons. It has inverted V seaming emerging up from the waist, slender hips, and a long, slim skirt with inverted pleats above the hem. The dress has no closures but pulls on over the head so please keep this in mind when viewing the measurements. The matching jacket is a rich, dark, navy blue cotton linen with rounded shoulders and inset half-length sleeves with deep, plaid-lined cuffs. The jacket closes with a mother-of-pearl double button at the neckline and it is unlined.

◊ condition: This set shows a few signs of her former life but overall she's in really nice shape for sportswear of this era. The jacket has a tiny white mark (this may be teensy surface frays to some of the threads rather than a spot) and there is a little cluster of very similar tiny marks underneath one sleeve cuff which is only seen when the sleeve is uncuffed (please message if you'd like a photo, I ran out of room!). There is a little bit of general wear/fray to one of the buttonholes at the neckline. The dress has a slight hint of ghost seams along the side seams (no stress, just indications of old seams) and a single small hole on the bodice, also right next to the (left) side seam. This is very inconspicuous but you'll want to make sure that the dress is a good fit so that you don't put any stress on it. The dress also has a very light crease where the hem was let down and the current hem is machine sewn. I don't know if the dress was worn with the hem at this length or if it was taken out to change the hem length and then just never worn again. I'm tall and I think this dress is a perfect 30s length so I did not take it up again but if you wish to do so you have a guide in the crease which definitely isn't much of an aesthetic issue. The dress shouldn't have any other issues not mentioned here, she's really in quite nice shape, she presents beautifully and she's clean and ready to wear.
