Exceptionally RARE Mid 1930's vintage evening ensemble by Couturier Maggy Rouff. The term Haute Couture is authorized for use and designated by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, this piece is certified with its original number written on the tag.

Black satin evening blouse with a black silk velvet falling leaf print. High mandarin collar. Very structured, padded and squared off shoulders. Long slim sleeves with 5 black satin buttons and hooks and eyes at the wrist. The bodice is phenomenal and quintessentially Maggy Rouff in its design. She had a penchant for feminine details, and the gathered bust is provocative and flattering. A small peplum accentuates the nipped waist. The blouse buttons all the way down the back. There is a hook at the nape and at the waist. The buttons have been replaced by 1930's black satin buttons, the top was missing most of its buttons when found. The inner construction of the blouse boasts incredibly structured and quilted pads with undergarment snaps at the shoulders. Small snaps with elastic at the waist to connect the top and the skirt. The skirt is bias cut black silk velvet. It has a very slight asymmetry with it being longer on the left side. Metal size zipper.

This is an absolutely remarkable piece of fashion history. Timeless.

Very Good Vintage Condition

-Buttons have been replaced with 1930's buttons that match the original buttons that were on the piece.

-An area of the back of the skirt has been repaired. This is hidden in the volume and depth of the black skirt- shown in photo
