One of the most exquisite dresses I have ever laid eyes on! Professional construction with no design or manufacture labels present. The dress is classic mid-30s construction, fashioned from a lustrous textured silk blend in a soft black. The bodice design elements include, a bateau neckline with center bow detail, a triangle peek-a-boo panel with horizontal cross sections and a semi-sheer underlay.
The fabric is bias cut, with sleek fluid lines through the waist and hip and a full floor length. Let's talk sleeves! Incredibly dramatic draped flutter sleeves are the piece de resistance, perfectly cut and exquisitely draped - both adorn with a large triangle of sparkling rhinestones and beads. These panels are heavily and fully hand beaded with silver glass bugle beads and petite diamante prong set rhinestones. The finished effect is pure glamour and drama. The weight of the beaded panels contribute to the sleeve movement and resting position at the side of the arms.
Condition of the dress overall is very good plus to near excellent. Most importantly, there is not one single bead or rhinestone missing from the original beaded panels. Fabric color is even, free from fade and zero stains/discoloration. Structurally sound. There are two small pinholes noted in the mesh underlay of the bodice panel (please see photos). There are a few pinholes noted at the left knee and a few on the lower portion of the skirt. Nothing large than a pinhole and all completely unseen without very close inspection.
No snags no tatters. There is a subtle makeup residue noted on the neckline interior - not visible when worn. All condition issues have been noted for full disclosure.
