This gorgeous gown comes w/many 30's style details; the satin peter pan collar, dramatic gathered sleeves, almost-empire style waist cut, & the bias-cut slip. The shell dress is made of a light blue cotton lace net with a pattern of swirls of ribbon, & a rayon or acetate fabric trim at the hem and collar, topstitched with rows of light blue thread. I have dubbed this the '28-button dress' since I first acquired, & began working on it. It came to me w/o buttons attached, but the person I bought it from sent about 30 golden yellow plastic buttons, so these were used as replacements. The belt is made from same lace fabric & features snap style closures. The slip dress is made of a pale blue-grey rayon/acetate fabric & features a bias-cut, which clings to the body. The overall condition is very good, with some repairs to lace throughout -especially around sleeves, very mild color fade, some light rust stains under replaced buttons, while the slip dress has some repairs as well, light discoloration throughout, a light pink stain at front waist area & one water stain at front right gem.
