This necklace is large and gaudy. It is a naturally antiqued raw brass which is a warm-gold metal. The antiqued gold chain measures 15 inches long fitting a small size female neck in a choker length. The thick stamped, open work flowers have great detail and measure 1 inch. Smooth, stylized leaves that measure 1 inch hang from the flowers, making the bib hang to almost 4 inches at its longest length in the middle. The,"bib" part is 5 inches wide and held by large smooth link chain. The necklace is closed with smaller, striated-texture cable chain and a hook closure.

CONDITION ALERT***The raw brass has a natural antiquing to it making the finish a little uneven in places with some staining. I have cleaned the necklace, but these flaws persisted. Please look at images to illustrate this.***

This metal necklace is circa 1930 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
