Fabricated in that slinky 1930s silk velvet that we all know and love.
Braided straps are backed in a woven ribbon to maintain their shape and length.
Neck line is clean finished inside with a silk bias binding and there are weights in both the front and the back.
There are no fasteners, so please allow for ease to slip over the head.
Bias seaming for that elegant fit.
Darts from the hip run through a stitched smocking pattern giving a spider web appearance.
The full hem on this dress is cut with a scalloped flounce, shaped with an interior stiff net and backed with a silk facing.
It would be stunning on the dance floor.
Maker: Nancy Couture
Condition: good/Very Good. The center back seam had torn, likely from the weight, so I reinforced it with seam tape and restitched it. There was a previous repair done next to the center back seam that is holding. There is a tiny, 1/8” hole just above the center back waist seam. See photos. Arrives, clean and ready to wear. Presents magnificently.
