30’s/40’s Crazy Quilt Patchwork Jacket Chore Coat

A beautiful piece of history featuring a rainbow crazy quilt with puff sleeves and hook-eye closure. It is my understanding from collecting the history that the quilt pieces are from the 1910s-30s, an assortment of silk scraps, that were sewn together into a quilt in the ’30s during the war to pass the time. Then the quilt was later cut into a jacket pattern and finished, so this project has spanned a few decades before being hidden away and discovered again! I hope this piece can find a loving home where it will be cherished for even more decades as the original maker put in many many hours to complete the quilt and the seamstress who made it into a jacket put in even more time. It warms my heart all the love inside this piece! Nice condition considering its age, the finishings aren’t perfect, but it is handmade and charming. There are a couple of areas where the fabric is missing but not noticeable.
