Gorgeous 1930s Cobalt  blue rayon velvet dress with matching belt. Has a lovely spiderweb lace modesty piece in the chest area which has closures on shoulder and clavicle area. Molded plastic TALON side zip. Has functional pockets in front, original owner has tacked them shut with one tack on each pocket under the faux button. Covered non-functional buttons on front center. Has some fading on shoulders, some scattered scuffs and staining on skirt but because of velvet’s nap and sheen it’s relatively hidden. Some aging to the lace. The zipper looks like it’s been replaced or repaired. It’s peculiar because the zipper is the correct time period but not typical of the style of zipper you’d see in a velvet evening dress, more of a day dress zipper. Damage doesn’t greatly affect presentation of dress as it’s quite a stunner!
