Incredible pink robe de style from the 1920s, complete with panniers, ruffles, and ribbon work flowers.

In the 1920s, there was widespread nostalgia for the lavish fashions of 18th-century royalty. This nostalgia was expressed in womenswear with the robe de style silhouette, popularized by the House of Lanvin. This piece is a fabulous example of this trend and a rare find a hundred years later!

Some features:

- Snaps up the side.

- Built in slip for the bodice section.

- Ribbonwork flowers on the hip and shoulder.

- Includes panniers (simple ones -- basically a curved piece of fabric covered wire connected with ribbon -- see photos)

- There is some writing on the panniers, but I haven't been able to make out what is says.

Condition: AS IS. See photos. There is extensive damage around the armholes and shoulders, as well as a couple of small tears on the back of the bodice. One stain on the front of the bodice. The ribbon is disconnected on one of the panniers. There is also a slight musty odor -- I have not attempted to clean this piece due to its age and condition.

I recommend this piece primarily for display and study. You may be able to wear it with extreme caution for a photoshoot. I find it does present very beautifully when worn despite its flaws because most of them end up hidden by your hair and arms.
