This is a very special 20s silk gown in golden cream silk. The gown is a wonderful 20s silhouette that is mostly loose but subtly fitted at the waist with gathers. The neckline of the gown is a simple V that has a stunning laced gold lame modesty panel. The neckline is also trimmed in glass pearls. The gown has short sleeves with cut-outs down the center adorned with pearl swags draped over the cut-outs. The hem is also trimmed in pearls. The gown is not only a bit fitted at the waist, it also has pick-ups at the hips with dense gathers. The pick-ups give a well-deserved peak to the magnificent lame lace at the hem of the skirt. There are also stunning large pearl bead medallions that decorate the bottom of the skirt. The gown also has an amazing train that is attached to the shoulders. The back has a wrap look and is trimmed in pearls. The train is straight with a rounded edge. The underside of the gown has a fun little strap that has a bow at the center and snaps down to the train so that it can be carried. The gown is fully lined and the lining has snaps along the side to fasten. The exterior of the gown has no fastenings and is pulled on over the head.

The craftsmanship and details on this gown are fantastic. You can still see the original markings for the pearls faintly visible on the gown when you look very closely at the sections. There are also a lot of hand finishes that just make this gown even more stunning.

Condition:

This gown is in stunning condition with only minor flaws. The gown was not cleaned and stored well and over the years has developed some noticeable grayish staining mostly on the train. The silk is still strong and in good condition. The lace is overall in great condition with only a few holes in the netting. The pearls seem to all be intact and the gown is still in great condition and wearable.
