Fabricated in a natural knit back wool fleece, possibly what they were calling chinchilla cloth at the time.

Fastens with mother of pearl buttons down center front.
The top button is mismatched.

Buttonholes are machine.

Back belt is finished into the side seams and the front belt buttons open or off if desired.

Low set Patch packets

Interior seams are bound in the same cotton used on the back facings for the collar, belt and sleeve cuffs.

Maker: Unknown. Possibly homemade

Condition: Very Good. Top button is mismatched as mentioned above. I added a few stitches to one of the shoulder seams. The number 47 is written on the reverse of the collar. See photos. Gently soaked and line dried, arrives clean and ready to wear.
