20s Egyptian Revival Beaded Bag King Tut Beaded Purse

This is an original 1920s beaded bag, straight out of the Egyptian Revival period. The frame is a bronze colored metal that is done in an intricate motif. There is a fine metal chain on top, as well as one inside which was probably for a change purse, long since gone missing. The outside features a green molded glass rendering of King Tut on each side of the top -- SO cool. The outside of the frame gives the appearance of a zipper, but is not. The closure is a beaded clasp that clicks shut into a beautiful filigreed finial.

Beads are black, red and blue. I do not see any missing or loose beads. The body of the bag is done in black beads. I am told that they are neiger glass. There is a red curved stripe of beads across the lower third of the bag, and in that strip are curves of blue beads. The bottom of the purse features a sun shape in red and blue beads, which I am sure is another Egyptian reference.

Measurements:
Top of finial to bottom: 6 1/2"
Width at widest point of bag: almost 5 3/4"

There are no tags or makers' marks seen. The filigree curves up slightly at the bottom, but I believe this to be original, as it is on both sides. The glass Pharaoh inset is in two shades of gree, as if some of the color has worn off over the years. The inside silk lining is shattered, but the muslin appears to be intact, so it would be an easy job to replace the silk and use the bag. The frame is strong and moves freely. This is a heavy weight bag that could be used for many more years if the lining is replaced.
