This vintage dress from the 1920s is done in a tabard style - which means it has flaps hanging down in the front and back. This style is drawn from armor of the past. This dress is done on seamless mesh netting, with each bead and sequin meticulously hand sewn. The top has a scoop neckline, with an even deeper scoop back. There is fringe at the hem that moves and swings, and the white beaded flowers are full and thick with beads, 3D in texture. Perhaps this originally had a slip to go with it, but I think any black or white slip would do, or it would be an excellent boudoir piece.

The beading is glass, with plastic stud accents that are sewn on, and the sequins are black gelatin.

As with anything over 100 years old, there are some issues. There is a little fraying of the netting at the neckline, one spot where the netting has given way and there is some beading missing from the back fringe. The sequins, being made of gelatin, have also fused or melted in some spots. Perhaps a spilled drink, an accidental touch of the iron, or hands where they didn't belong. Between heat and liquid, who knows how that happened. However, that doesn't affect the wearability of this piece. For its age, it is in surprisingly decent shape and wearable, with care.

The sizing on this is great, as the netting is flexible. The bust can go up to 44" without strain, the top measures 20" in length and then the tabards are an additional 27" in length. Weighs 1 lb 13 oz.
