20s Aviator Hat Earflap$30.00
1920s aviator earflap hat in olive green by Charles S. Merton and Saks Fifth Avenue (which opened it's doors in 1898). The 2nd and 4th photo, is closer to the actual color. It was taken outside. It was tailed for the Kerr Sport Shop in Beverly Hills, Ca. It is made of cotton, has a top seam, cap front with a beige ribbon and bow around the cap. The earflaps have a cotton flannel lining and the hat has a beige satin lining. It is in overall good condition, for it's age. The issues do not affect how good it looks, but I always mention every issue, no matter how minute it may appear. There is tiny pin hole on the side of the cap, not noticeable at all. There are also a couple of very small tears in the fabric, but they are under the ribbon. They are not visible with the ribbon. You can alway put a tiny tack for the ribbon to stay put. On the inside of the cap, there is a small hole. That won't show when wearing. It does not go through to the outside. The ribbon hs some light rust stains. I'm going to keep working on it, to see if I can get rid of them. The inside is clean and has the original label. It is 9" front to back in length, 10" across. Best for someone with a smaller size head. Great for cold winter, cyclists, bikers and anyone who loves the 20s and 30s.
