Art Deco rare silver plated eyeglass hard case, gorgeous with the initial M on the front.
This unsigned case is lined in what feels like velour or worn velvet. It has a spring loaded push button clasp. You push the button open and close it.
It measures 6 x 2-1/2", and it is in overall good condition. The lid has to be juggled a bit to close as it's a little off. It is most likely the screw on the back that is a little bent. It closes securely though there is a little space. There is a tiny bit of wear with some normal light scratches and a tiny spot in the back where the silver plate came off. Most of them have dents and dings, which this one does not have.
All in all, it looks pretty incredible esp for being so old and you can use it proudly :). I always list any issues, no matter how insignificant they prove to be. Most of them are very light and are made of aluminum (for sale on my site). This one has more weight to it, which leads me to believe it is silver plated, besides the silver color looks so beautiful. These kinds of cases have been around since the early 1900s and very hard to find.
This will not hold the oversized eyeglasses. The glasses that fit in it (my own glasses) are 5 1/2" long and 2" wide, but could go up to 5 3/4".

Great gift for someone, esp with a "M" name, and for vintage eyeglass collectors.
