Stunning 1920-30s French Butterfly Brocade evening clutch, with Garnet jewelled latch. Beautiful gold metallic brocade ground fabric is adorned with pastel butterflies, the purse has piped trim in bronze thread. The framed bag closes with a unique clasp, it's horseshoe shaped and folds over the top to gently clasp the bars, adorned with a cut garnet stone. Silk Satin Lining, 2 inside pockets, the purse comes with a cosmetic mirror in a satin peach envelope that matches the inside lining of the purse. I believe this beauty is French in origin. No Makers Marking. The purse strap is a very delicate short finger chain, to secure it to your hand while dancing! The brocade body and silk lining show little or no signs of wear.
