It's hard to get over the fact that every inch of this dress was completely sewn by hand -no machines!!
This incredible example of a true vintage 1920's flapper girl dress was an amazing feat to make and its the ultimate little black dress. It features 1.5" width shoulder straps and a wide, 'boyish' silhouette, which make it a rebellious dress for its time -hence the flapper girl status, tho it is a simpler example. The straps and bodice are made from a paper thin silk with some natural streaking to its weave. The drop-waist style skirt is made of a heavier silk stain with super lustrous sheen and two separate tiers, both neatly gathered for soft ruffles. There is no opening and very little stretch to this dress, so you will need to slip it on, over your shoulders, so please check measurements carefully! There is a ribbon gathering closure for the upper bust (see pics). The overall condition of this dress is excellent for its age; at one point the shoulder straps were lengthened and fabric was added at the back strap bases, there is some minor wear and light fabric discoloration around these areas, the second-to-last pic shows a slight fabric discoloration at front waist and a small repair to fabric tear, near drop waist, the last pic shows a teeny hole repair or darning. These are overall minor issues and could be distracted with embellishments -which I've always felt this dress could use! (perhaps a trim around the upper bust?)

- 8.5" strap drop (from shoulder to dress, double measurement for total strap length)
- 33" bust (may be gathered in via ribbon for smaller busts)

- 26.5" length from waist to hem
