I have had this charming scull cap for many many years! Joal De Luxe of New York was pretty prolific, and you can see other examples of his/her hats on-line, They vary in price according to style and condition . This is a very clean and unlined cloth hat. The color is navy blue, and the fabric is most likely cotton or rayon. But the best part is the amazing flower made out of twill, with crystal clear beads that connect each "petal" , and the vintage rhinestone accent in the center. The hat has no head grippers, but these could be added, or a hat pin could be used to secure it and fend off attackers at the same time...hahaha! A veil could also be added for drama. I can visualize someone like Veronica Lake wearing something like this. Her hair was so amazing, anything else would detract...but a small scull cap would be perfect for her! And a lady could not go out without a hat!!!!! The hat measures 21. 5 " around the inside hat band. It measures about 7 " across, and the flower measures 2. 5" across, and is about 1" tall.
