Drape yourself in luxurious, antique silk softness, with this velvet coat...

This phenomenal lightweight coat is made of rare, pure 100% silk velvet in black. This piece has been washed, in order to bring the silk back to its original softness, and it's like butter! This coat is completely lined in a lightweight black silk fabric. I believe the sleeves were originally intended to be worn folded back, due to the split at the cuffs. The neckline is finished with two self-fabric sashes at either side of opening (no closures present, this coat is meant to be worn open), which may be arranged in a variety of styles. My favorite detail are the imaginative upper sleeve areas, which have been gusseted (fashion term) for more volume, and contain a beautiful zig-zagged seam design. There are no labels or maker's marks present. Overall condition is excellent, and quite strong to wear, with a few small, unnoticeable repairs throughout, as well as some pinhead sized holes in the upper sleeve areas -please see photographs for full details (some photos have been lightened to show the detail of the velvet).
