20’s Orange and Silver Handmade French Flapper Pin$35.00
Here's your chance to own a rare, never-worn 1920's hat pin from Mimi Millinery...
These pins are deadstock (new, never worn) from Mimi Millinery Pty Ltd in Australia -direct to me from the granddaughter and daughter of the original owners. Mimi Millinery was the largest Millinery supply house in the Southern Hemisphere. They sold everything, including but not limited to, vintage hoods, braids, veiling, flowers, French hat pins, and French straw. The company no longer exists but a few of these deadstock pieces exist from the 1920's -1940's and I have them for sale in my shop!
This pin is handmade, from France, and comes in stacked blossom style shape. It has a dome base that has been covered in glass (short bugle style) beads in orange and silver hues, with silver metal wrapped thread cords mixed in. At the 'blossom' center and middle of each flower lies a teardrop shaped clear orange acrylic bead. In-between each petal is a mounted and multi-faceted rhinestone. Overall condition is good, with moderate signs of wear from storage, including one missing teardrop bead and damage to the remaining teardrop beads. Pin has been modernly modified as well, from a hat notion/bauble to a pin. Please see photographs for full details. Has original tag marked '6018' on one side, and 'Made in France' along with some penciled-in notes.
