20’s Deadstock French Beaded Sequin Pineapple Pin$40.00
Here's your chance to own a rare, never-worn 1920's hat pin from Mimi Millinery...
These pins are deadstock (new, never worn) from Mimi Millinery Pty Ltd in Australia -direct to me from the granddaughter and daughter of the original owners. Mimi Millinery was the largest Millinery supply house in the Southern Hemisphere. They sold everything, including but not limited to, vintage hoods, braids, veiling, flowers, French hat pins, and French straw. The company no longer exists but a few of these deadstock pieces exist from the 1920's -1940's and I have them for sale in my shop!
This pin is handmade, from France, and has a decidedly pineapple-type design to it! It is handmade with a pink fabric base, to which are sewn little mint green puffed sequin-style pieces. sandwich-ing a larger cupped squid or spangle piece in hot pink, and these are finished with tiny hot pink seed beads -adding to the 3-D pineapple effect. At the top are several 'fronds' made up of clear plastic pailette or spangle pieces in pink and white, spaced with the utilization of small sequins, and secured using extra long seed beads (at either side of each 'plume stalk'). Truly exceptional craftsmanship and ingenuity! Overall condition is excellent, deadstock, with no flaws and little to no signs of storage wear. Please see photographs for full details.
