20s 1930s Antique Drop waist silk dress with asian peacock embroidery. Flesh peach and brown with neck sash. Bust 40 see measurements.
FEATURES:
Nicely made (no tags found, possibly made by individual) Silk dress in Fleshy/peachy Beige with chocolate brown trim. Brown is found inside neckline, and neck sash is two toned fabric. It is also found on trim of wrap bodice and on the inside of sleeve cuffs.
Wrap style with drop waist. Sewn on semi-attached belting with sewn on pin (pin looks newer but not Modern).
Gatherings/vetical hem detail at shoulders and on back of neck.
Sleeves have coordinating embroidery on extra wide cuffs.
Large gathered sleeves like leg o mutton style.
Side pleat on dress/skirt hem on front and in back.
Interesting embroidered design on bust. Metallic and colored threads making asian/peacock style design. Matching design on sleeves with scrolls and triangle trim.
Peplum style cut but straight rather than figure hugging typical of this era.
Pin with pink and rhinestones sewn on at a later time.
Snap sleeves.
Soft Netting lines sleeves.
MEASUREMENTS:
Measurements taken with garment lying flat and multiplied by 2 when appropriate. Compare these to a similar garment that fits you well and comfortably, remember to add room for comfort and movement.

CONDITION:
For this age, I think silk looks very good/sturdy.
Sewing condition: Over all good skill used with pinked seams and good even stitching. I did notice along waist line it looks as if peplum was taken up a bit as I see stitching covered in a small segment here and there. Belt covers it. Photos available upon request.
A few light water spots here and there that are noticeable at close inspection. A few tiny dark spots again, noticeable at close inspection. The light side of neck sash has darkened a bit on end- along the edge. Photos available. Not in perfect condition but most Ive mentioned were noticed when giving it a light press. Seams intact. Most visible spot is along belt beside pin attached. Wear as is or embellish to disguise.
This item has no odors, but I would recommend a good pressing/cleaning at the dry cleaners. I treaded lightly with it and gently pressed; I do not have a reliable dry cleaner in my area. I have used one previously but had items returned damaged.
