A vintage Shaw Creations Satin Acetate scarf has a border in deep chocolate brown, with the center in green, tan and cream.
The attached fabric label reads "100% Acetate, RN 17903, Shaw Creations, Inc. Made in Japan".
The label also shows that this is a water repellent scarf, useful for wet weather to protect your hair.
The only issues I can find to report is one tiny dark dot in the cream center and one other small spot with a color run in the tan area. Due to those minor issues (which will not be visible when the scarf is folded to wear) I have marked this scarf lower in price than a normal 1950's era scarf would be.
In this time period of the 1950's women wore either hats or scarves virtually anytime they were out in public, so most women had a variety of hats and scarves. This type of scarf would have been used to protect the elaborate 1950's hair styles.
The second scarf is also a 27 inch square and it features a different slant on a leaf pattern. Outlines of leaves (like maple leaves) are scattered on a background of green, yellow, tan, brown and yellow and there is a green border.
This scarf has an attached fabric label that reads "100% Acetate WPL 12931, Made in Japan, Hand Wash Separately, Line Dry, Cool Iron".
Both scarves have rolled and hemmed edges.
