Vintage mid-century HY Goodman "just fine furs" authentic black astrakhan fur coat with mink fur collar. This piece is the definition of elegance and glamour. The body of the coat was made from authentic Persian lamb fur (astrakhan) which was very popular in the 1940's-1960's and became extremely hard to find by the 1970's. The fur has a distinct swirling texture, giving it depth and dimension. It fastens closed with two discrete black hooks and loops down the center front. The black fur is complimented nicely by the thick mink fur collar which can be worn down or popped up. There are two slit pockets and the interior is fully lined with silky smooth black floral lining. The previous owner's monograms are embroidered in the lining. The original hand woven label is sewn at the back neck and reads "Just Fine Furs HY Goodman Original". (based out of NY, USA). It has the famed boxy, flaring, a-line silhouette synonymous with old hollywood glam in the mid-century era. A beautiful addition to any collection!
