50’s Authentic Horsehide Leather Motorcycle Jacket$725.00
James Dean, Elvis Presley & Marlon Brando are a few of the names that come to mind when you think of the motorcycle jacket – an enduring wardrobe staple for anyone that likes to dress with an edge. And boy is this jacket a marvel! It is a genuine 1950s horsehide leather motorcycle jacket made with great craftsmanship in Germany. The leather is thick, durable, in great shape, well broken in with nice grain patina. It has old school quilted lining, snap down lapels / collar / and shoulder epaulets, three outside zipper pockets plus a small hidden pocket in the lining, zipper openings at the sleeve hems, and a belt. It was previously owned by Joyce Kim Lee, an Emmy Award-winning Costume Designer, with more than 25 years of experience. She designed costumes for over 50 productions in theatre, opera, and dance and worked on over 30 tv and movie projects. This piece was from her costume collection and was used on set or stage….who knows what piece of Hollywood History this piece holds! The interior shows that is is German size 44 (size US 12) and it has a tag that reads “Echtes Leder” which means “Rea Leather” in German & Echt Leer means "Real Leather" in Dutch.
