1931 Yearbook Colorado Woman's College The Skyline$95.00
This was the year book of Harriet Glattly, a sophomore at Colorado Woman's College in 1931. This is an amazing time capsule of women and education from the period. The co-eds came from all over, with their home towns noted next to each photo. Alumni came from such exotic places as Japan, Mexico and Hollywood, California! I also noted at least one young woman of color (see photo 8). Hazel seems to have been a popular girl and had people sign next to their photos in most cases. A great way to connect it all together.
Known as The Skyline, it has some exceptional photography, including some beauty photographs done as part of a "Beauty Contest" with the winner at the front and other contestants featued in the back. Wonderful period images, I believe done by Walter J Pursell, who was given a large ad in the back, (under his studio name Mead-Pursell) which states him as the school's official photographer.
There is also more fun period photos of events, theater, athletics, parties and candids. Very rare and unique archive of this colorful period. In very good vintage overall with some wear to the exterior and other normal signs of age and use.
By the way, this college is still going strong, now called Colorado Women's College.
