12 Vintage Novelty Christmas Glass Balls Ornaments Indents Teardrops Barrel Mica Stripes Pink Blue White Silver$46.00
Get an instant stash of a dozen vintage novelty Christmas glass ball ornaments in different designs, colors, and sizes! These are considered vintage novelty ornaments because they aren’t just a solid-color ball shape.
There are so many ways to use these ornaments—on the Christmas tree, of course, as well as displayed in bowls, on plates, scattered among your other decorations, and more.
They are different colors, but overall include pink, blue, white, gold, and silver. Please see the pictures for the different designs.
The set includes:
4 indent reflectors. 3 are a teardrop shape and 1 is round. They range from 3 ¼” long to 1 ¾” long, including the necks. One of the pink ones is broken on the interior, but it’s on the top so you don’t see it when looking straight at the ornament.
3 round teardrops (vs the elongated type of teardrop ornament). They range from 2 ½” long to 2 ¾” long, including the necks. The blue one in particular is missing paint.
2 round ones with stripes that are 2” including the necks.
2 round ones with silver backgrounds and handpainted stencils of Santa and other designs. They are 2” – 2 ¼” including the neck. These were made in pre-World War II Poland.
1 barrel, with ridges of pink, blue and silver. It is 2 ¼” long including the neck.
These balls have the gorgeous patina of vintage glass balls that just can’t be replicated with new ones. But along with that beauty comes age marks—some scratches, crazing, fading, spots, discoloring, paint loss, rust or tarnish on the caps, or other imperfections. Some of the mica or paint might be rubbed away. See pics.
They were made by different manufacturers (one says Shiny Brite) and are not in their original boxes. Several are quite old—pre-World War II (making their history even extra special). They will come to you in a box. The cellophane is missing from the lid. I’m not sure the bottom and lid went together originally because the lid is loose on the bottom.
