Professional construction from the reputable Gage Brothers label, and one of the earliest labels from them I have seen. The hat is done in a finely woven navy blue straw with a fine natural straw around the outer edger of the brim. The hat is styled as a lawn hat / sun hat with a medium to high profile crown and medium with brim. The crown is trimmed in an original gorgeous floral silk ribbon, fixed in place with a bow and a matching Art Nouveau style brooch. I am not sure if the brooch is original to the hat but they came together and have been thus kept together. The interior of the hat is fully lined in a black mercerized cotton.

Condition is listed as goos. There are a few minor cosmetic issues noted but nothing that deters from proper function or presentation. There are some notes of handling and wear to the outer edge of the brim, please see the final photo provided for a close perspective. There is also a white wash to this part of the brim that I cannot decide if it was intentional or original, it presents somewhat milky around the natural straw edge. One minor tatter to back of the crown and the interior lining has an open seam around the top portion of the crown, this does not present and could be stitched up again at your discretion.
You will find these notations reflected in the price. The hat is 100% wearable with beautiful presentation.
