Feel like an Edwardian angel in this etheric sheer cotton dress...

This lovely and sweet little dress features repairs from its former owners, as well as a repair-modification from yours truly. This super lightweight, white cotton batiste fabric dress is from circa 1890's-1900's, and is most likely hand or home-made. There are super fine net mesh fabric inserts (featuring tiny little dots!) at the neckline, center front bodice and half sleeve cuffs. The silhouette would be considered almost babydoll, by today's standards. The center back features a mock-button (with teeny-tiny carved shell buttons!!) closure with small metal snaps. The skirt is flown and widely pleated at the waistline. Original skirt was another 5-6 inches in length but had been torn almost all the way through at the mid-line, so I did hem it to its current length. Overall condition is excellent to very good, with some sort of obvious repairs to both underarms, the aforementioned skirt modification and a few small unnoticeable repairs throughout.
