Perhaps you won't be able to resist the charms of this piece either. It is completely handmade and dates to around 1910's-1920's. The main body is a silk fabric in ivory color, with a beautiful sheen to it. Either end has a rolled or French style finish with hand-stitching, and the side edges are selvedge finished. One end of the scarf features a beautiful flourish shape, hand-embroidered with a grey-blue silk thread. When I look at it, I can sort of make out a possible monogram shape, utilizing 2 or perhaps 3 letters, however nothing solid stands out to me. But, I do love satin-style embroidery, and the way this shape overlaps itself. Piece has been cleaned, and would make for a good re-working project. Unfortunately, this piece has seen better days, and is in fair condition, with stains throughout, a repaired hole, a couple pinhead sized holes, as well as a ew threadbare-worn places.
