50s Wedge Slingback Heels Mary Jane Black Suede

DETAILS: Cute and comfortable! I believe these are 1950s vintage, based on the wedge styling and very minimal platform. The shoes are slingback, with a rounded closed toe and Mary Jane inspired strap that is wider on the inside of the foot.SIZE: no size label. I generally wear a modern 7. 5 to 8 - based on attempted try-on, I would estimate these as a 6. 5 to 7. But please consider the measurements and compare to a similar style from your own closet. Length, heel to toe, inside - 9. 75" (24. 75 cm) Width across widest part of sole - 3. 1" (7. 75 cm) Wedge height - 2. 25" (5. 75 cm) MATERIALS/COLORS: Uppers are black suede, lined with "Joyce" logo fabric. Outer soles are leather.MAKER: Joyce CaliforniaCONDITION: No major issues like cracking, tears etc. There are a few small scuffs and spots to suede, and the cloth insoles near the ball of the foot tore from wear and were taped down by a previous owner as a quick (and effective) fix. You may want to replace or cover the insoles, but wearable as is.Joyce shoes began production in the early 1930s, and won a Neiman Marcus award for their work in 1946. They were known for making shoes that were comfortable yet stylish, and usually with a wedge heel. Their styles were very popular with high school and college students in the 40s and 50s. The brand was bought out in 1955 and became better known for slippers, although they have continued shoe production.
