This 1970s peasant skirt and blouse by Chessa Davis exemplifies the love of the bohemian style which was popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Chessa Davis's creations became wildly popular and were worn by Hollywood elite. Many of her skirts and blouses were colorful, made of patchwork fabrics and embellished with lace and handmade buttons, etc.

This particular ensemble has a more modern vibe, using a geometric pattern of black and creamy white dashes. The blouse is still an iconic peasant style, with a gathered, rounded neckline with bow and full sleeves. The skirt is sewn in panels with contrasting narrow strips of the white and black fabric creating differentiation between the panels and adding interest to the hem. There are whimsical "tassels" hanging from the waist. The waist has elastic (isn't very stretchy) and there is a zipper. It is lined with a woven cotton fabric that has a pretty lace hem. Included is a matching sash belt that is wider in the middle and tapers to the ends. The fabric feels like polyester. No fabric content label. Excellent condition except that the elastic may be stretched out too much in the waist.
