From 1968, never worn, this Size Small Shadowline short sleeve pajama set is accented with sheer floral trim at the rounded neckline yoke. The color is a pretty coral orange and there are 5 plastic buttons lining the front. On the right lower side there is a small square pocket. A row of pretty floral lace trims the cuffs of the elastic waist pants.

This PJ set was an original Salesroom sample, made to be displayed in a Shadowline showroom. That is where department store and boutique lingerie buyers would be able to see what was available to order so they could buy merchandise in bulk for a future season.

As shown on the paper hang tag, the retail price for the set in 1968 was $7. In today's dollar value that would equate to $59. 00.

Because this was made in 1968, before laundry instructions were mandatory on fabric content tags, there are no washing instructions here. However, it is the iconic Shadowline nylon, which is machine washable and can be tumbled dry on low. I personally use the delicate cycle in my washing machine and then hang dry vintage garments. My feeling is that helps them stay their best for the longest possible usable life.

Since this set still has the paper tag, I have not laundered it.
