This poor satchel had lived a lifetime or two before coming to me.  Because it is so old, I had to think long and hard about how to best refurbish it.  Fully bathing it was out of the question, so I cleaned it gently with PH balanced suede cleaner and PH balanced leather cleaner and conditioner to not only preserve the moisture in the hide but to add to it.  I brushed the suede and conditioned the handles and piping and had a rip repaired to the inside slip pocket.  The process, while slow, added years to it, it really impressed me!
