40’s Black kid leather pierced metal box bag$165.00- Top Handle Bag
The perfect vintage little black bag, to compliment any perfect little black dress!
A stunningly beautiful example from the mid to late 1940's, this box style handbag features high-end elegance in every detail. The lid, double strap handles, and -get this!- bottom of bag, are made from a black, super supple kid leather. The bottom base and lining of this purse consist of a woven moire or faille silk in midnight blue color. The framework of the bag is made of a hard gold-colored metal, that has beautiful pierce-work and etch-work with a scrolling floral theme. This same flourish is echoed at the base of each double strap, as well as in the middle, creating a handle. The locking clasp pulls up gently to reveal the inside; long, beveled mirror, pouchette pocket, and a roomy bottom compartment with another pouchette style pocket. Simply labeled 'I. Miller Beautiful Bags' (there are numerous example of 'I. Miller Beautiful Shoes' -the product I. Miller was better-known for, however, their bags are fairly rare. The exterior condition is excellent with only flaw being one strap base is slightly bent. The interior condition is very good, with mild make-up stains in lower compartment and some mirror issues. Please see photographs for full details.
