Vintage Pride Clothing

June may be the official Pride Month, but in our opinion, every month is Pride Month. Whether you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community or are an ally, it’s always a good time to don clothing that demonstrates your support or your pride.

The gay pride movement has been ongoing since the 1960s, with pride events kicking off in New York City in June of 1970, a year after the Stonewall Uprising. Since then, we have been wearing pride clothing to show our support for our communities.

Vintage pride clothing can take several different forms. For instance, you can show your pride with vintage graphic tees that showcase the sayings and images that breathe life into the movement.

Another common way to wear clothes for pride is to rock vintage rainbow pride clothing. How you wear the rainbow is up for interpretation. Wear vintage tie-dye featuring rainbow colors, or even accessorize with vintage rainbow pins and patches.

Bright, bold colors were already commonplace in the 1970s fashion world and became a chance for the LGBTQ+ community to express themselves more freely than ever before.

Shopping for vintage clothing from the queer community is a fantastic way to show your support and look incredibly chic—all at the same time.
