80’s Purple Print Cotton Avant Garde Full Skirt$50.00
This fun and fabulous 1980s cotton skirt by Jeanne Marc mixes multiple bold patterns, in shades of purple, hot pink, green, yellow and red. The boldly patterned skirt is quite full, with a wide, quilted waistband and wide, flat pleats at front and back (the purple polka-dotted fabric forms the pleats, on both sides). In back, a velcro-fastened tab hides an elasticized waist, for a perfectly comfy fit! The medium-weight, polished cotton is unlined. The waistband is fastened at the left side with a single button above a side slit, making it easy to pull on and off. An extra bonus: the skirt has two side seam pockets, yay! In very good condition, the skirt appears basically unworn, but it does has a few tiny rust marks on the fuchsia fabric trimming the waistband, where it was previously pinned onto a hanger, while it was stored (see close-up photo). The awesome mix of floral and abstract prints in bright colors makes this Jeanne Marc 80s skirt a real eye-catcher! According to the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource: "Jeanne Marc was established in 1973 by wife and husband team Jeanne Allen and Marc Grant. Located in San Francisco, the Jeanne Marc label was one of the last to be made completely in the US. Their garments were considered relatively high-end at the time and this skirt is a nice example of why: great design details, quality fabric and nice construction!
