Meet Olivia Roth, a vintage seller from Detroit, Michigan.
What attracted you to vintage? Buying it? Wearing it?
I've loved thrifting ever since my sister took me back in middle school. I'm addicted to the thrill of the hunt! It's like a sport for me. Shopping vintage means shopping pieces that no one else will have but you. It's the ultimate form of self expression.
What inspired you to open your vintage shop?
My closet is an entire room full of vintage treasures. I love thrifting, but I can only buy so many clothes for myself! Starting the shop was a way for me to make my passion for thrifting into a business. Now I can go to the store and buy all the fabulous pieces I find to share with other vintage lovers.
Tell us a little about your collection? Is it decade specific? Size specific? Themed in any way?
My style is fun, funky, and colorful--there's no print that I'm afraid of. I source pieces from across the decades, in colors across the rainbow. That being said, I also like to include neutrals and wardrobe staples that can be styled with these statement pieces. In addition to authentic vintage clothing, I also rework clothing I find, turning them into something entirely new and unique.
If you could dress any celebrity or public figure (past or present) who would it be?
I would looooove to dress Kasey Musgraves! She's got that funky eclectic style that I'm always drawn two, and she's not afraid of color.
Why did you decide to join Thrilling?
I love that Thrilling is only for vintage. It's a community where vintage lovers can come together over their shared appreciation for clothes of decades past.
Is there anything interesting, special we should know about your shop or collection?
All the reworked pieces you see in my shop were made by my mom.
