What attracted you to vintage? Buying it? Wearing it?

I had been collecting vintage handbags and scarves for over 20 years, just as a hobby and a way to diversify my investments. I absolutely believe then and now that vintage designer handbags are a great way to invest. I had accumulated close to 150 pieces from high end designers like Chanel and Hermes to Coach and Dooney and Bourke.

What inspired you to open your vintage shop?

In mid-2019 I decided to part with some of my prized possessions due to the COVID 19 pandemic. My husband and I are also part time racehorse owners, when the pandemic hit we had to keep our barns open, employees paid and our horses trained despite having no income from horse racing. Reselling saved our horses and the rest is history as they say. I decided to keep reselling on a part time basis because I fell in love with the community. I established a relationship with suppliers in Malaysia, Japan and Thailand and I have been reselling part time now for the past 3 years. My shop is named after my daughter.

Tell us a little about your collection? Is it decade specific? Size specific? Themed?

My vintage collection is still largely handbags and accessories (vintage scarves and jewelry). I do also sell vintage clothes only if I come across something truly unique.

If you could dress any celebrity or public figure (past or present) who would it be?

Definitely Rihanna or Erykah Badu.

What is the hardest thing about being a vintage shop owner or collector?

Sourcing

Why did you decide to join Thrilling?

I was introduced to Thrilling by a fellow Posher. I loved the idea of a platform dedicated to vintage.

Is there anything interesting, special we should know about your shop or collection?

I try to focus on sourcing only the most unique items and I have a strange addiction to denim and sequins.
